Amber Intense - 100ml - Eau De Parfum

From the first time I smelled this perfume I knew it was special This is a soft smooth Amber unlike any other. I love the smooth elegance of this perfume. The notes are so well blended that it gives hints of them rather than a burst! For me this is an anytime wear. Amber Intense was love at first sniff and I am proud to have it in my collection. 💜💜

This perfume is right up my alley! Ambery, light florals, a touch of rich, almost candied tangerine, with some cumin and musky skank in the base. Heaven! Feels like a modern niche version of some of the 80s amber/oriental fragrances and will probably appeal more to vintage lovers (which I am).
I want to point out that this is amber fragrance, not ambergris. They aren’t the same. Amber is a fantasy accord in perfume, created using vanilla, patchouli, labdanum, styrax, benzoin, etc., and it’s what we used to call oriental fragrances which is now frowned upon. This is most certainly an amber fragrance. Is it like Ambre Sultan or something like that? Nope, not at all, it’s not that kind of amber. It feels more glamorous, like something a movie star with a long cigarette and red lipstick might wear. Though it’s certainly unisex, it has a bit of a femme fatale vibe. Fans of vintage perfumes or something like Nuit Noire by Mona di Orio might appreciate this one.

It opens with a boozy top of spiced rum accompanied by woody notes of oud and Peru balsam. The image of the barrel in the note list is fortuitous since this rum smells like it was aged in a wooden cask. It has the same rolled-cigar tobacco depth as an expensive scotch. After the first half-hour, the booziness fades and the scent settles into a thick, powdery haze of vanilla and indistinct piquant spices. The bitterness of the oud and resins provides a pleasing medicinal base reminiscent of natural vanilla bean and burnt sugar. About an hour into the dry down, the saffron becomes more transparent.
I am reminded of Baraonda by Nasomatto. The similarity is substantial enough that I might as well save $500 and stick with the marble cap. This is not a critique of the scent, just my budget. Amber Intense is actually very beautiful and is obviously made with a lot of fine natural ingredients. Well done, and definitely worth a sniff.

I actually can't understand all the hate. Sure, it's overpriced and all as most fragrances are, and I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion or whatever, but this is probably the best fragrance I have ever smelled. This is a refined and warm yet clean and charismatic concoction. It's as if I was wearing a robe of the finest gold thread, cashmere. and silk yet that robe was actually a versatile hoodie or something. There is a smell that is strangely high-class yet perfectly balanced and inviting. The rest of the FDB line doesn't really do it for me, but this is far and away a masterpiece like no other in my opinion.

Smooth blend. One of the better offerings from this house. Consistent and linear, strong, pronounced (almost candied), resinous amber accord. Mix in some cinnamon, citrus, spices and wood, and you've got Amber Intense.
Nothing ground breaking, but this is well done. The listed profile seems accurate and there is a general intensity to the scent, although it's refined; that's despite the other fragrances from FDB baring the 'intense' monicker, which are anything but...
I dig this one. I just wish it weren't so expensive. A luxurious wear.
